General Notes:

Since I keep getting confused about which class is which and what we're covering each day... I'm gonna make a general notes and questions/ideas section for me... Those that can keep the classes straight and have things to tell me about what I need to work on from each class please feel free to put the notes in the actually appropriate area :)

I think I'm getting back into the swing of things fairly well... movement, breathing, balance, power... all seem to be coming into line nicely... I also know that all this is going to change dramatically once I actually start wearing armor... So my plan is to actually have enough to wear come Thursday (provided work lets me out enough to make it to practice)

The zero stem shots still feel incredibly awkward to me... I'm too used to using my arms I think (comes from being a carpenter) so it feels strange to keep them locked to my sides like that.

It has been very helpful to do the combination and movement drills like we were doing 2 Sundays ago (I think... work's made my sense of time vanish)  Since I already have a grasp of the basic strikes, seeing how to put them to use against a non stationary object is good for my brain to get a hold of...

0602 1707 -- the purpose of the zero stem is, besides hitting the other, is to learn to use the gross musculature to develop the blows.  You'll get to hammer with the short and long stems, this is unifying those with the turn, rotation and lean of the legs, hips and torso.  The six step drill in its variations is the key for 102 and 103 level.  I recommend you look at the drills in the various classes and try them out, from the simplest (first) forward. -Steve
